Your strength is the power that carried me through

Anniversary blog::

Nine years ago today, on the hottest day of the entire year, I got married. And it was the best, smartest thing I've ever done
Not that I'm a big believer in the need for legal or spiritual recognition of the union between people, mind you. No.

I'm more a believer that one day my awesome, intelligent, talented and devastatingly cute wife will come to realize what I have known (and pointed out) all along - that I'm so obviously lucky beyond anything I deserve. I know it. I know it every day and every time I stop and look at her and our life together. I'm not sure what I'm doing that is keeping her in what must be a near-trance-like state that stops her from snapping out of it....but I'm sure it'll wear off someday and I'll be shrugging and thanking my dumb luck while she runs screaming for the door.

So, in a much more practical way, nine years ago today I did the smartest thing ever
I put some legal hurdles in place to slow her down on the way out to give me time to get the tranquilizer gun out of its hiding place and steady my aim.

* Sigh *

This is our marriage - she is amazing and I try to be funny and snide in the hopes that she continunes to find it charming enough to keep me around. And she does. I can't say I understand. But I certainly appreciate it.

Love you, baby.

Your impracticality is a necessary balance to my practicality. In other words, I love you too.
