A little of everything blog::
Monday morning, like any other except that I dropped the wife off at the airport this morning for her business trip and I took the boys home - thus completing the 180 turn our lives have taken in the past year. I'm home sipping coffee and keeping the house clean, just shoved the boys outside to play on this beautiful morning and have a few minutes to hammer out a little of everything.
the Theater - we're posting a build blog on the HUGE site and I'll be trying to keep updates on the space there as much as possible. I really don't enjoy when my blog turns into my to-do list but some overlap is impossible to avoid since the theater occupies about 80% of my attention at any given moment.
Home - I'm liking being home with the kids and thank to their many activities I still get some time to run around and get things done, I'm not going to say I'm not excited for school to start so there's a little more structure and routine in place. Sometimes they inadvertently drive me nuts in their attempts to get to one another. Which are all the time.
I've been pretty good about my goal to carve out some art time for myself amidst all the madness of opening a theater and being a house-husband and I'm pretty damn happy about it. Not only have I been able to draw a bit more but I also dug out a lot of my old art, framed some and am able to enjoy it as a pastime once again. Weird.
I think the combination of Target foamy hand soap and my ADHD medication are turning me into one of those people that washes their hands constantly. Maybe not. Actually, I blame Apple Computers for having white keyboards. The combination of my renewed art time, which means plenty of graphite-stained fingertips, and the amount of time I spend working at my computer means the keys on the right half of my well-designed chunk of aluminum and plastic are a dull, dirty grey all the time. Regardless, it's an odd and slightly worrisome new behavior.
the Nerd Parade - is almost upon us.
Up until last week or so it hadn't really been "real" but then I got my costume back, got my new makeup supplies and had a nice visit to the site to teach at the Academy yesterday and I'm suddenly in show mode and ready to get out on the street and be weird.
I've been teaching a bunch of "Improv For Nerds" classes that relate improv to street performing and stage acts and ended up learning some new things about my improv teaching in general that have been very fun to mess around with. Plus, given the amount of time and brainpower I spend analyzing what I do out there, it's nice to let it out every once and awhile before I have a nerd-aneurysm.
the boys and I are off to meet George in Jordan so they can ingest particle-chicken and the grown-ups can talk construction while they play in the giant plastic distraction.
