This is little Owen, one half of the happiest, smartest and sweetest set of twins the world has ever seen. He will make a kind and benevolent overlord when they rule the globe side by side (his brother, not so much).
Owen is my little boy. Owen has Autism.
We don't know why, there's no real explanation of the causes (but no shortage of people with theories) and no cure (but no lack of people willing to take advantage of parents who will literally do anything if there's a chance it will help their children) - but this Month, today specifically, is meant to try and change some of that.
Autism Speaks is a wonderful place to start getting informed and, if you are so moved, give to the cause of researching what is the fastest growing medical problem in the world today. It will affect 1 in every 150 children born this year, it will end in divorce for as high as 80% of the parents and (maybe worst of all) it has caused many otherwise rational people to take this brainless twit seriously as a source of scientific opinion.
If you don't know someone with Autism yet, you will - and probably soon.
Take some time, today or this month, to get informed.
Thank you.

Butch, I just am amazed by your intensely irreverent (not to be confused with irrelevant) coherent comments on autism and your world. I spent 1-2am yesterday reading about your life on the road - getting a glimpse of what the team goes through. Thanks!
my pleasure - I have to say 1-2am is not when I read the best.
btw....who is this?? I've been puzzling over the initials.
