We gonna turn. This mutha. Out.

Road blog: Vegas, day 1 part 2

Met with clients, did some work and had dinner with an incredible
magician.
Then...

Parliment Funkadelic was playing at the House of Blues and when I walked by there wasn't even a line to get in. Grabbed a ticket and I'm so goddamn glad I did.
It. Was. Amazing.

George Clinton took the stage and literally only using his left index finger to point, got the entire crowd jumping, arms waiving side to side and kicked off what would end up being one of the most awesome marathon music sets I've ever seen. It was loose, it was improvised to a great degree, nothing ever went wrong (even when it did) and so many things went incredible right.
Clinton conducted, starting things by saying "I got my son here, my daughter here, my grand daughter AND my great-granddaugther....so you KNOW we're gonna turn THIS muthafucker OUT!" and from then on it was like watching a 3 hour finale.
At one point there were no less than 26 people onstage playing and singing, trading places and microphones and parts at random, a 5-guitar solo (which they followed with Proud Mary), CLinton's Granddaughter did an awesome and incredibly X rated song standing next to her grandfather, SLY STONE SHOWED UP and did a quick song and lead-in to "We Want the Funk" and everytime it just HAD to be the end the energy would just kick right back up, heads bouncing.

I have now seen it all.
Or at least the funky side of it all.
