This short trip feels longer and longer all the time and I can't wait to come home, although I suspect that as soon as I get there I will be looking forward to coming back here again.
Yesterday began at 430am with a phone call from my poor wife telling me anthony hadn't come home the night before. He tends to pull stuff like this when I'm gone either because he's acting out to get attention or he's waiting for me to leave so he can get away with something for once. Either way, he's being dumb and the wife was worried.
Meeting all day, which was a meeting full of doctors. So it was trying.
I would totally believe that doctors are rude to everyone out of some elitist mentality if I didn't see them being just as rude to one another. Seriously, they're the worst people on the planet in that regard. At a previous meeting a doc that was flown in and paid to be there to speak at the conference came in an hour before showtime and told the event staff he scheduled a meeting for himself for exactly the time he was supposed to be speaking and wanted them to rearrange the entire day. That level of rude. It's a whole different plateau.
The boy was found and perseveres at being stupid despite encouraging words and suggestions to the contrary.
Had to go out with clients for dinner, which was alright in that we got to hit Vegas on a Saturday night on the company and scary in that I was surrounded by clients and had to mind the fact they don't share my sense of humor. It was a little uptight for a while.
Cabbed over to the Palms and met up with a group of doctors at Alize, which has unreal food and drink. The bartender gave me a sample of scotch (meaning a shot) that will run you $100 a shot normally and then one of the docs (who had apparently had it with being uptight) orders a round of top shelf tequila for us.
Clients all around, doctors that I have nothing but contempt for all day and free-flowing, high quality booze on them. You can imagine the tension. I had to bite my tongue, which was made more difficult by the tequila but I'm still here. My stomach is not pleased.
Day 2 of the meeting starts in 5 minutes for the crew and it's going to be an insanely boring day. All the attendees (many who are paid to be here) are skipping out early to play golf and then we get to tear the room down, load the semi and I head for the airport for a nap.
Can't wait to get home to my poor wife, my little guys and find out what the teenager has in store for me.
I'm missing the show tonight but you should be there.
HUGE takes on 123 Improv!! This friday at Punch Out. It will be unreal.
