finally entering the weekend after a work week that could only be described as painfully tedious.
My primary function this week has been to babysit a machine, sort of just sit there to make sure this computer keeps on computing the way it is supposed to, which of course it does and has all week long.
sure there have been a couple of emails from humans about how the machine is doing and if the machine is going to be alright, meanwhile I've been going a little insane. And of course the people I usually waste my time with online are either on spring break or doing something else more fun than babysitting a guy (through a machine) that's babysitting a machine. GoogleTalk is my lifeline but contact me only if you're prepared for an onslaught of conversation.
I'm on all day.
in any case, one more day.
To say I'm looking forward to this weekend (and beginning of next week) would be a massive understatement, finally some fun and the wife and I are flying to Vegas courtesy of my work and will be able to relax and unwind in the desert, I will be able to drop more money than I should at the craps table and she will likely spend a more moderate amount of money at the slot machines getting free drinks. The machines in Vegas babysit the people better.
I will be putting the mobile blogging tool to work on the road to capture what should feel like work (since I travel as part of my work grind and, oh yeah, I have work to do there) and yet feels more like a much needed vacation.
Finally got back into the world of health benefits this week after a long, expensive vacation from it and today I'm going to start using them, beginning with an eye appointment. I should arrive at my desk today fully dilated and hopefully making the day go by in an actual blur will somehow make the time seem to move faster.
