Just when I get close, the target moves. Finding comfort on my toes, double-knot the boots

The return of the to-do list disguised as a blog

I suspect I chronicle all the different things I have in the air at any given time for a few reasons
- To keep them all straight
- To keep reminding myself that I actually want to do them
- To force myself to stay in motion out of some sense that the readers of my blog are not only attentive but also so invested in what I'm writing about and working on that they would somehow hold me accountable for some lapse in my promised activities
- Because it makes a nice distraction from actually getting any of those things done

the HUGE Improv Theater
This has actually been moving smoothly, if not slowly, along for some time.
We were officially given our non-profit status by the Federal Gov't not long ago, which was the last big obstacle before the truly terrifying stuff begins. I'm excited for it to get really scary.
I have a whole list of things to do, none of which are exciting in any way.
I also have a whole brain full of ideas for the future, all of which are exciting enough to wake me up in the middle of the night and even the chance that we can pull half of them off makes all the work worthwhile.
Stay tuned.

the Twin Cities Improv Festival
It seems like TCIF III just happened in some ways, in others it always feels just long enough in between for me to forget what the hell I'm doing. Time to shake the rust off, submissions open in the next few days - I know it's fucking early. The Festival itself isn't for a full 8 MONTHS but knowing that improvisers are usually slow to make it from "hey....we should apply to that this year..." to actually sending the applications in, we try our best to be accommodating.

The new logo makes me happy.

Shows
I'm performing on the IAGG stage as well as doing show with the good people at Splendid Things when travel and exhaustion allow. It's fantastic to be back and I'm back to keeping a closer eye on the Official IAGG Calendar

Travel
I'm actually going into a long string of trips again - from sunny Miami to Chicago with one day in between to kiss my kids and wash my work clothes, then Chicago to NYC for two shows in a row before I get to visit home again. After that I get a little rest before being sent back to Canada...twice.

Hopefully I'll have something of substance to report in every single one of these areas in the coming days and weeks. Right now, I should sleep.

But there's so much to DO.

An object in motion stays in motion. Why is it that the really great stuff that we really want to do always has to fit in the corners of life, and the obligations take up SO much time?
