Sunday blog -
the short version is this: I was in LA pretty much all week and never left the airport, in fact I almost never saw anything other than the conference room and my hotel room. Somewhere in there I got sick, just in time to tear down the stage and load up the truck and get on an airplane.
Landed Friday afternoon, went home to shiver and lay around on the couch.
Saturday was pretty much a repeat of Friday, plus RollerDerby
Today I feel a little more like myself and I'm leaving again.
So my family got the crappy version of me and these strangers I work for get everything else. I'm a little less than enthusiastic these days, if that's not obvious.
I'm missing the show but tonight's IAGG features the return of Ferrari McSpeedy - it's going to be killer. you should go.
This trip is to Utah and will include some winter sports since we have to film the clients on their ski/snowboard/snowmobile trips. Being required to get on a snowboard while still nursing this virus sounds wonderful but try complaining to people how you don't want to do the mandatory snowboarding and you'll see shockingly little in the way of compassion.
It makes the job sound cool even though the 1-2 hours of painful work (since I'm not good at snowboarding or skiing) on the side of a mountain will be surrounded by 115 hours of sitting in a windowless room, working early morning until late at night and being about 1,500 miles away from my kids.
pumping my system full of daytime cold medicine, packing my bags, gathering my equipment, downloaded a zombie-killing game for my iphone and some new music and I am off to the airport once again.
more from the road.
