Ain't nothing like a mohawk to show off your 'fuck off'

bloggy blog -

I'm not sure what day it is but I appear to be home. This last trip was a lot to handle in a few ways - we worked ridiculous hours and juggled a crazy number of moving parts and human elements, it was right on top of another trip with no real time at home and to balance it all out it was one of those trips where I found myself saying 'wow, this is what I get paid to do' with a stupid grin on my face.

We were 2 days into the trip before I even saw the outside during the day (and that was out a window as I was running from room to room) and everyone we talked to just wanted to know if we'd been skiing yet - which seemed like such a weird question as I'd forgotten we were on top of a mountain. Until Wednesday Park City looked shockingly like the inside of a conference room, just like everywhere else.

Then we got to the cool stuff - I was sent out as video to capture their big fun 'adventure day', which means I just have to go do the fun stuff with them. Aw, shucks. As such I was 'required' to get the Olympic Park tour, ride the world's steepest zipline and end the day doing 5 G's in a bobsled - 15 turns and 400 vertical feet in a respectable 54 seconds. My bones still hurt.

After that it was all downhill - no stupid pun intended - just the thankfully boring nuts and bolts of getting my body from point A to point B. Stupid people at airport, check. Flight attendant doing his comedy routine over in-flight speakers (not kidding) to captive audience, check. Crazy cabbie telling me how I should buy a metal-detector and get into treasure hunting like him, check. My own bed, finally.

There's much to catching up to do but the things in front of me are closing in too fast to worry about the things behind me. Prepping for my class tomorrow and hoping my brain has returned to its proper shape by then.

That is all. I've missed you, Minnesota.
