I'm tired of my coffee and this Prozac-buttered toast

Thanksgiving blog -

the boys have taken the spirit of the holiday to heart and woke up early, got themselves dressed and made their beds before coming to wake up mom and dad (who were already awake thanks to the fact that both of them talk at shouting volume before 6am) with an adorable chorus of "Happy Thanksgiving!"

That's enough to make you appreciate what you have right there. Hell, the fact that they got up and made their beds would be enough most days. In any case the sweet kids are trying to be extra sweet today and not just because they started writing their Xmas lists this morning, either.

Thanksgiving at our house always means brunch, which is a stroke of my wife's genius.
Instead of turkey and potatoes and laboring away all day over any of that nonsense we have everyone over at 11am for pumpkin pancakes, bacon, coffee, whatever they bring with them and it's all over and done with around noon. After that is a little Wii time with the boys, minor cleanup and an afternoon movie.
Simple, easy and short.

Like most things in my almost-German-efficient household, we have this down to a science.
